Income Eligibility Guidelines for Rising Scholars Foundation Programs

To ensure equitable access to our programs, we offer free participation for students who meet specific income requirements. We use the USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines for the 2024-2025 school year to determine eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students in Sarasota or Collier County: Eligible students must be enrolled in a public school and must meet income requirements based on the USDA guidelines.
  • Students Receiving Free & Reduced Lunch: Students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch are automatically eligible for our programs.
  • Students Receiving Government Assistance: Families that participate in programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) or other forms of government assistance may qualify. Examples of qualifying programs include:
    • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
    • TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
    • WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)
    • Public Housing Assistance
    • Medicaid

If your family meets the above criteria, you can apply for our programs by submitting the appropriate documentation (e.g., proof of participation in SNAP or other assistance programs, free/reduced lunch eligibility, or income verification).

Proof of Income
If your family does not participate in any government assistance programs, please consult the table below and be ready to provide proof of household income, such as:

  • Most recent tax return (Form 1040)
  • Pay stubs (last 2-3 months)
  • Wage statements or a letter from your employer confirming income
  • Social Security or Disability benefits statement

How to Apply

Applications are open year-round, and we encourage you to apply early to secure a spot for your child.
